Did you know?
Town Hall was featured in Southern Living in March 2008.

Legacy is about a way of living that is based on a community with elegant housing designs, convenient to area businesses, with locations that are self contained and where time-honored values are embraced.

The owners of Larry Johnson & Company each grew up in neighborhoods where we knew everyone.  We could ride our bikes to the playground, the pool, or the general store, and when it was dark we rode home for supper.  There were no long commutes to work or school because everything was right there, close by.  There was a persuasive sense of family and community that seems to have gone missing in the sprawl of the last twenty to thirty years.

We have built homes for many years, but in 2005 we started to imagine the neighborhoods of our youth and how great it would be to return to that lifestyle. Around that time, we started hearing more about New Urbanism, a movement to change aspects of planning and development to support human-scale communities, where everything residents need is within walking distance. The principles of New Urbanism were first established during the development of Seaside, Florida. The trend has continued to other developments such as Harbor Town in Memphis, Tennessee and The Cotton District in Starkville, Mississippi. We have embraced the ideals of Traditional Neighborhood Design and have put them to good use in our design of Legacy.
